This article is both relevant to my research project, as well as personal. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease myself, and am always looking for more and more research on the topic.

This article is very easy to read, as it does not continue on and on in medical jargon whatsoever. Instead it is very up front and straightforward and allows anyone who reads it to understand exactly what is being put across.

· Brief Summary:
This article was describing results of a study set out to determine whether having celiac disease decreased a person’s quality of life or not. By giving questionnaires, it was determined that the quality of life was actually improved after being diagnosed and treated and was then about the same as the general population. In summary, the quality of life of a celiac disease patient improves after they find out they have it.

1) QALY score: quality-adjusted life year score. Is a measure of disease burden, including both the quality and quantity of life lived.
2) HRQoL: Health-Related Quality of Life. Refers to how an individual’s wellbeing may be impacted over time by a disease, disability, or disorder.
3) EQ-5D: standardized measure of health status that was developed by the EuroQol group. This provides simple, generic measurements of health for clinical and economic appraisal.
· Detail the strengths/weaknesses of this article.
Strengths of this article include being extremely thorough. However, the only thing that it does not succeed at being thorough in is explaining the above concepts. Another weakness is the fact that it relies so much on numbers. I myself am a math person, however, America hates math. This could be a barrier that keeps the general public from really absorbing and grasping this article.
· How might this article be useful to you in your further studies and career?
This article was useful knowing that my quality of life is better when adhering to a gluten free diet. Sometimes I stray, and believe it doesn’t affect my mood or emotions; however, for me this is a wake-up call that it really does.
