· Course Topics covered:
WIC program, breastfeeding rates, breastfeeding attitudes with and without formula.
· Brief Summary:
Parental attitudes affect child nutritional health. Participants in WIC have lower breastfeeding rates and attitudes in spite of the breastfeeding and nutritional programs they participate in. The research study was to assess the frequency of breastfeeding in women in relation to those in WIC programs. The study concludes that more research should be conducted with Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders to better understand why the breastfeeding rates are lower for those populations.
